Measures anal sphincter pressure and allows assessment of function. It is an essential test to evaluate patients with fecal incontinence. Biofeedback provides a noninvasive means to treat fecal incontinence.
Video Capsule Endoscopy
Allows visualization of the small bowel by swallowing a miniature video camera (the size of a vitamin pill) which travels the extent of the small intestine taking photographs which are transmitted electronically to a receiving device worn on waist.
Colonoscopy
A technique which uses flexible fiberoptic instrument to examine the entire colon (large intestine) while patient is sedated.
Esophagogastrodudodenoscopy
A technique which uses flexible fiberoptic instrument to examine the esophagus, stomach and duodenum while patient is sedated.
